Textbook Rentals Here

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

It’s funny how every few months, there’s a big buzz about a “new” slant on traditional business. This year, the buzz is about people renting textbooks instead of buying them.

Renting textbooks makes perfect sense. Think about it - the item in question is needed only for a short period of time (usually a semester), has limited value to the user after the interval (are you really going to go back and brush up on business calculus), and customers (usually students) are typically on a limited budget.

On the flip side, students who own the textbooks have 3 options:
1. Selling it back to the bookstore they bought it from for a tiny fraction of what they paid for it
2. Taking it to the recycle bin (and getting nothing more than gratification for helping the earth, or
3. Keeping it for years after it’s useful lift

At Renterval, you can list your old (and sometimes new) textbooks for customers near you to rent. Set your price, establish how long you will allow the customer to keep the book, and you’re in the textbook rental game - it’s that easy!

Customers can search by title or genre and their ZIP code to find a wealth of titles.

PS - anyone want to rent a textbook addressing concerns about Y2K?
